What motivated you to volunteer with IIBA® Calgary Chapter?

  • I decided to volunteer with the Calgary Chapter as a great way of giving back, and to learn new skills. Volunteering provides me the opportunity to meet new BAs in the Calgary area to improve my networking and communications skills.

What value does your Board position/portfolio provide to members of the Calgary Chapter?

  • My portfolio ensures that the Board is operating efficiently and effectively as it relates to finance. As Treasurer, my objective is to ensure that the Chapter remains a going concern. This involves financial control, budgeting and financial management.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

  • I love Spain! Can never get tired of Barcelona and Malaga. The food, scenery and especially the beaches have a calming effect on me.

What book/podcast would you recommend to our members?

What tip, trick or advice can you suggest that will help your fellow BA's succeed?

  • Business Analyst roles vary from job to job. With each new role there is a new skill to learn that helps to make one a better BA.
  • Be flexible and open to trying new projects; move around Business and IT units; try as much as possible to be versatile and to understand various functions as they relate to the BA role.
